Update 5: It took 17 days to register a company in Norway, only 17x slower than England & Singapore!

If you’ve been following these posts you know that Marianne Svanevik and I have just launched the world’s best Long COVID Recovery Program. I’m sharing stories from our journey and today we have MAJOR news.

Long Covid Recovery AS has been registered in Norway, even faster than estimated! Typically, this lightning-fast process takes only 30 days, but with the warp speed of the Norwegian bureaucracy (in this case private bank Folio and Brønnøysundregisteret combined) we saved 13 days - wow! Too bad for us that England and Singapore get this done in 24 hours.

Registering the company cost us north of 5 000 NOK (around $500). In England it costs about £50, meaning they are 17x faster and 10x cheaper than us when it comes to registering a company.

A few days ago, Norwegian politician Alfred Bjørlo wrote a great post about entrepreneurship in Norway. He claims that the Norwegian government has made it a goal to become the best place in the world to start and build companies. I had no idea this great goal existed, perhaps it’s a secret.

Having a goal is nice, but taking the consequences of it is something different. Look at Jakob Ingebrigtsen. His goal has always been to become the greatest runner of all time. He takes the consequences of that goal, dedicating every second of every day to achieve it. That’s what it takes to become the best (Ronaldo and Djokovic are other examples).

How amazing would it be if the Norwegian government didn’t just dream but took the consequences of our (secret) goal?

Alfred lists a few smart tax-related things we can do immediately to take action towards our (secret) goal here. In addition those, how about we:

1. Make it possible to register a company in ONE MINUTE, not 30 days.

2. Make it almost free to register a company, not 10x more expensive than England.

3. Make it simple for smart, hardworking people and their family to move here, not super hard, slow, and frustrating.

Such changes would indicate that we take our (secret) goal seriously.
